Programs

These shows are usually 40 minutes long, contains 7-8 fights. There are 6-7 gladiators. In our performances we present possible modes of fight between different gladiator types based on the result of historical and archeological research on gladiator games. Fights are performed both in pairs and in groups.
We also have a flexible program we put together in accordance with the requirements of the inviting party, using the following fights:

Our Performances

„The history of the gladiator plays” – Informative presentation with fights and explanation. These shows are usually 40 minutes long, contains 7-8 fights. There are 6-7 gladiators. In our performances we present possible modes of fight between different gladiator types based on the result of historical and archeological research on gladiator games.
For a professional presentation, we use a tent that also serves as a stage for the performances, covering the gladiators who are just getting dressed and waiting to enter the arena.

„Tha foppish judge and the gladiators” – humorous performance with group fights.

„Viables from the gladiator games history” – Famous and notorius caesars turn up in the arena.

Performances include the ceremonies which accompanied the gladiator games in ancient Rome as well. We use two different tents according to the number of players necessary for a professional presentation, and these serve as scenery as well hiding the gladiators when they change attire and wait to enter the arena.
We have our own sound system to provide musical accompaniment, which is the musical reconstruction recorded by the Rome-based SYNAULIA group.
In other, non-German speaking countries of Europe local residents with a good speech technique are invited for this task .

1986 – Gladiatorgames – an educational performance
1988 – Heroes of the arenas- during the fights poems of antique poets on human dignity.
1991 – The proconsul and his barbarian guest- with fights and comic intermezzos.
1992 – Gods in the arena – during the combats Nemesis and the deified Marcus Aurelius conduct a dialogue on vanity.
1993 – Antique vintage celebration -with Liber and gladiators.


1993 – Banquet games
1994 – Roman legionaries against the barbarians-our first battle reconstruction.
1994 – Roman wedding- the wedding of Analius Caius Senilis and Julia Domna Satrafa.
1995 – Passion play- the sufferings of Christ


1995 – Thirteen sentences on creation- the combats and other events were a symbolical illustration of the necessary progress of the world and the human spirit.
1996 – Venus in the arena -during his fights the star gladiator falls in love with Tullia seated in front of the spectators.
1997 – Indebted to Mars – gladiator fights interlaced with mystic events.
1998 – Genres from the history of gladiator games- acts of famous and infamous Caesars in the arenas.


PLAYS WE INTEND TO SHOW IN THE YEAR 2002:


The conceited judge and the gladiators – a performance spiced with humorous scenes, with fights between pairs, in series and in groups.

The Lion – a play full of dynamic combats, in which the lion symbolizing Jupiter appears in a spectacular setting, giving force and bringing victory to the one relying on him.

The Persian – during the fierce encounters the maturing gladiator learns the law.

The sun-runner – a performance inspired by the 6th level of initiation of the Mithraic cult.

The history and process of the gladiator games – an educational performance with fights and the explanation of the events surrounding the fights.

The performance listed above last about 40 to 50 minutes. The number of players is 14. 


SUPPLEMENTARY PROGRAMMES:


Passion-play – the sufferings of Christ. /35 minutes/

The crucifixion – the execution method with a presentation of its technical and physiological aspects and explanations. /20 minutes/


The carrier of the lazy legionary – a comic battle between Romans and barbarians. /30 minutes/

Ancient Greek songs – sung by our two female singers. /20 minutes/


Roman military park – children and adults may try out the throwing and shooting weapons of the age.
